As we celebrate Republic Day, I find myself reflecting on the values and unity that make India truly extraordinary. There is a unique sense of pride when you see symbols of India on foreign land—a reminder of the strength and identity our nation holds on a global stage.
A Year of Travel, A Heart Anchored in India
2024 was a whirlwind year of exploration for me. I spent over 150 days traveling across 17 countries and discovering the unique charm of 70 cities. Each journey brought new perspectives and unforgettable experiences, yet the feeling of returning to India—to its culture, warmth, and vibrancy—is unmatched. My roots remain deeply connected to this incredible nation, no matter where I go.
Republic Day Through the Years
For me, Republic Day as a child meant watching the parade on television. The whole city would deck up in the tricolor, and even the sweet shops would prepare sweets inspired by the national flag. That’s how Republic Day felt during my childhood—a day of celebration and pride.
However, times have changed. Today, for many children, Republic Day has become an excuse to go shopping, with sales all around in stores and markets. While the celebrations may have evolved, it’s more important than ever to understand the value of our Constitution and the unity it brings to our nation. Republic Day is a reminder of what makes our country proud and strong.
A Remarkable Constitution for an Extraordinary Nation
Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the chief architect of India’s Constitution, envisioned a document that could represent the vast diversity of our country. His efforts resulted in the longest-written constitution in the world, drawing inspiration from across the globe. It stands as a testament to the commitment of our leaders to ensure fairness, inclusivity, and unity. This historic achievement continues to fill me with immense pride.
Honoring the Spirit of Republic Day
Republic Day is not just a celebration of our Constitution but also a reminder of the responsibilities we share as citizens of this great nation. It’s a day to honor the foundation of our democracy and renew our collective promise to build a future that makes India proud. After all, no matter how far we wander, there is no place quite like home.
So, this Republic Day, let’s take a moment to cherish our shared heritage, honor the vision of our forefathers, and contribute toward a stronger, more united India.
Jai Hind!
