CULTURE VULTURES

PIN

i read an article in Hindustan Times “Culture Vultures”. Every1 has right to speech nd i knw author just expressed wht he felt but i dnt agree with him when he says Indian culture is to be blamed bcoz it has double standards as it doesnt approve of issues like Homosexuality, Pre-marital Sex or live-in relationships.

I mean…helllllllooooo……all these issues are solely an individual’s perception abt things and his/her individual decision. How does opposing these relate to Indian Culture???

I personally would nt like to go for pre-marital sex or a live-in relationship nt bcoz it is’Nt Indian culture to do so but bcoz i still believe in the sanctity of marraige.

See, we Indians are hippocrats, as we instead of uprooting Corruption and social causes like Dowry& crimes against women are more interested in opposing Valentines Day or promoting regionalism .But tell me one thing is it Indian culture OR Indian politics to be blamed for corruption, regionalism and casteism ?? If u’ve seen wht Raj Thackrey did, u must have also seen the kinda opposition he faced from general public….all ths is mere politics and not Indian Culture!!!

One thing i agree with is tht Dowry is an evil, Indian culture is still living with. It seems to be an obvious custom followed by all Indians (rich nd poor, of all religions and regions). But there are many people….. who refuse dowry frm their in-laws.

There is nothing wrong in celebrating Valentines or homosexuality as such as these are individual choices and preferances. But on wht basis do u support live-in relationships and pre-marital sex??? i believe you have sex with some1you’re in love with. If u love a person, then get married to him/her. How do u justify pre-marital sex????

Just expressing my views ……..would like to hear back wht other’s think abt it.
